We are an independent non-profit organization working towards our purpose to restore the balance in nature by reducing the climate impact of races. We do this by protecting natural old growth forests and increasing biodiversity.
The organization’s purpose and statutes guarantee that at least 90% of the donations we receive go directly to the intended purpose.

Our purpose
Balancing trail running’s carbon footprint by preserving nature
What we do
- Balance the climate impact of race events
- Offer individuals the opportunity to balance their racing impact
- Develop a portfolio of balancing projects, such as forest preservation
- Monitor, influence, and inform about the climate impact of races and how to reduce it
- Offer guidance and climate impact analysis to organisations and race organizers
- Encourage physical activity on sustainable terms

Our goal
All races should be in balance with nature
Our offer to race organizers
- We calculate your race climate footprint in kg CO₂e and transfer that to a price tag for areal protection of old grown forest or similar projects
- Your organization can choose full contribution, voluntary participant contribution, or anything in between
- Trail Cred are using the funds to buy and protect old-growth forest, or similar projects, that are vital for biodiversity and for slowing down the climate crisis
- Your organization can include the initiative in your sustainability commitment communication
- Trail Cred provides coordinates for the area that your funds has protected to share with the participants
