SFT partners up with Trail Cred to compensate for the climate impact of the whole race, where participants are encuraged to compansate for their travel to and from the race. Trail Cred have calculated the total climate footprint of the event and the team behind the race, RUNTGS, have decided to pay for the carbon equivalent of the race on site, into protection in old growth forest.
And now it is up to you as a participant to get your Trail Cred! Contribute to the compensation by donating the small amount compensating your travel to and from the race.

In 2026 Runners of SFT and TGS contributed with donations of 494,8 kr to balance the carbon footprint of their travel to and from the races of 12442 kg C02e. RunTGS donated 2880 kr to balance the carbon footprint of 2812 kg Co2e for the race. 10% of the donations goes to administration and transfer fees, leaving 3037 kr that we donated to Naturarvet to protect 972 m2 of old growth forest in Klingervattskogen on the shore of Lake Klingervattnet in Jämtland, Sweden. The protected area is located on the coordinates 63.75508, 14.17863
The area that is protected stores 9039 kg CO2 over a period of 10 years, as explained in Data and methodology page
